What's a mother to do....

Remember back in one of my posts in April, I made a comment about being called to the principal's office when Tabitha starts school. Well, it's actually sort of started now in daycare. Two days in a row on her daily "progress" report, there has been a notation that Tabitha bit another student. The first time she bit, it was provoked, the other child had pulled Tabitha's hair. The second time though there was NO mention as to whether the biting incident had been provoked or not. Tabitha as of late has taken to slapping at the dogs, mom, dad, granny, etc... if they "disagree" with what she is doing or tell her no. The dogs obviously don't talk, they just happen to get in her way. I'm at wits end and am not really sure what I should do or if I should do anything. Right now she gets a time out. I'm not sure she really understands what that is about though. Any suggestions?

FFF "Summer Lovin'"

This week our FFF theme is summer lovin. I suppose that this theme can be looked at in a variety of ways. When I hear the phrase, "Summer Lovin'", it makes me think of the movie "Grease". Just wondering....

I as a parent am starting to wonder why I spend money buying toys. Don't get me wrong, Tabitha loves her toys. BUT, clearly she has quite the creative mind. She made not one, but two different toys out of a simple empty diaper box. The first toy is her new little fort. The second, well she has discovered the fun of the slide. I think for a 17 month old she's doing pretty good!

Blue dress

We bought this little dress the first time we went to Guatemala to visit Tabitha. Keep in mind, Tabitha was only 4 months old and weighed only 11 pounds when we met her. Tim loved this little dress though, and we bought it. It is a beautiful color of blue fabric with little children embroidered on it. The dress finally fits! She wore it to church for Father's Day. I finally downloaded pictures off of the camera.

FFF "Daddy & Me"

This week's favorite photo Friday is suppose to be about Daddy and baby or male role model and baby. Picking a favorite ONE was impossible for me, so as usual I didn't pick just one. Tabitha has been a Daddy's girl from the get go, we could tell that from our initial visit when she was only 4 months old. She lights up the minute her Daddy walks into the room. It's finally here!

We finally have Tabitha's new birth certificate from South Carolina with her whole new name on it! Tim picked them up from the lawyer's office today. Now we have to apply for a new Certificate of Citizenship and social security card with her new names on it. Plus I want to apply for a new passport for her. We have no plans to go out of the country, but I still want to do that. Someday all of this paperwork stuff will be finished....at least I hope that it will!

FFF Bloopers

I actually thought that I was going to have a hard time with this week's topic, bloopers, but looking through my eons of pictures, I actually have more than I thought! The first picture actually was a blooper during her birthday photo session at Sears, she was doing the raspberry, motor boat thing when the photographer snapped the photo. We thought it was "so her" and cute that we had a copy printed!
In the next shot, Daddy was trying to have a picture with "rabbit ears" behind her head except no one told Tabitha that she had to face the camera. Thus a photo of the back of her head. The next photo, Tabitha decided to just turn around and walk away from the camera. Then there is the shot of her in her high chair,I had wanted to get a shot of her because she had held her bottle all by herself....again, didn't tell Tabitha and she put the bottle down. Plus her eyes are half shut and the exposure is too dark. Then last but not least is the shot of her and Daddy at Easter. Oops, I caught Daddy straightening her hat! Oh well, guess I didn't delete any of these because I think that they are all great because they are of our little girl! Hot, Hot, Hot!

We went to the beach last Thursday for a mini vacation--long weekend is more like it. I had all of these plans to take tons of pictures, but being the spacey mom that I am of late, I forgot to take the camera down to the beach with us. The weekend actually was a little difficult for Tabitha I think. Oh I think that she had fun playing in the sand and water, but her schedule was all out of kilter. She went back into her "I'm not going to eat ANYTHING mode" for the time that we were gone. She didn't want to eat anything, even things that I know she loves, while we were gone. She didn't really want to drink much either. I'm not sure what her problem was, if her routine was not the same as home or if she had a little tummy bug. She "threw up" a couple times, nothing big, more like she made herself gag and then threw up and she had a really yucky diaper on Friday while we were there and she's had a couple more since we got home. I wouldn't say that she had diarrhea,because she's only had 3 total of these "yucky" diapers...but something was definitely bothering her. She also WHINED the entire weekend....if I was ever going to take up drinking that whine could certainly drive me to it!

Maybe it's the weather. South Carolina has been hotter than normal these past couple of weeks. I mean, it's just June 10th and we've had 2 weeks of 95+ temperatures with some of the days over 100! I'm not talking about the heat indexes either, I'm talking actual temperatures. The heat indexes have been in the 110's! I actually found myself questioning which I find worse: cold with snow and ice that we indured when we lived up north, or this heat! It's still up for grabs; I don't like driving on snow and ice, but in the cold you can put on MORE clothes.....in the heat, let's say that I definitely cannot wear LESS clothes....it wouldn't be pretty!
Here's a picture that we did manage to take from the week end, it is Tabitha and I in the pool. She did love the pool, Daddy and she had a great time splashing! Hope you enjoy it! Yes, that's me hiding behind Tabitha in her little pool floaty. I DO NOT like my picture being taken, especially not of me in a swim suit!

FFF Messy Spaces

This week the subject of Favorite Foto Friday is messy spaces. Actually that wasn't too hard for me to find, sad to say. One of my blogger friends actually left a comment that asked, "what happened to your den, it looks like Toys R Us threw up in it!" Tabitha loves her toys, but when she plays, she pulls all of the toys out of the toy basket and they end up all over the place....then there's what used to be the coffee table, or as I call it now, the animal table. Almost all of the stuffed animals that are sitting on it make noise and music. Tabitha has learned how to make the animal's music come on. Cute, you say, well it is until she turns ALL of them on at one time! Here's some pictures of our "messy space". Beach bound

We're headed to the beach (Myrtle Beach) today. It will be Tabitha's first trip to the ocean. We can't wait! This mini vacation couldn't come at a better time....the South Carolina heat is blasting in full force. Temperatures this week have been in the 90's with the heat index in the low 100's. This is our 4th summer here and they seem to be getting hotter every year! I hope that we will have lots of pictures to share, not sure of our internet connection while we are gone though. My FFF is scheduled and ready to go though so be sure and check that out on Friday! If we can't get online, I promise, we will have pictures up as soon as we get back.
