A Christmas Party

We went to our first Christmas party of the year; it was at the Chaplain Center, Tim works at the Chaplain Museum. It was nice, a little smaller than last year, but none the less nice. Actually they don't call it a "Christmas Party" anymore, it's the "holiday party" because the Chaplain School has chaplains of many different faiths. So they were celebrating Hanuka, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and whatever the Islamic holiday is this time of year. They had people tell about the different holidays and what they are celebrating and all. Last year, they didn't have a Santa Clause, because someone vetoed the idea since "Santa" isn't a "religious" symbol. This year, Tim was part of the planning committee and presented the question of "what is this party that we are having anyway?....a "Holiday" party, is Christmas not part of the holidays? SO....Santa is part of Christmas to many people, especially to the children." This year there was a Santa...none other than dear Tim. He was the Santa at the party. We were worried that Tabitha might figure out that Daddy was Santa.....not a chance! She screamed when I sat her on his lap. So, I guess we won't have any "good" pictures with Santa this year! HOWEVER, there was one "young" lady that enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap....she's one of the dear ladies that does volunteer work at the museum....she's like family.
